Kuria Kamau is an Economist and Fixed Income/Currency Strategist at Standard Bank Group (Stanbic Bank), focusing on the East African region particularly Kenya and Uganda. Kuria is part of a larger Africa Economics Research team which conducts macroeconomic research on African countries aimed at identifying potentially profitable trading opportunities for clients. Kuria holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science from the University of Nairobi and an MBA from the University of Warwick in the UK. He is also a CFA and CAIA charter holder as well as an affiliate of Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). Prior to joining the Economics team, Kuria worked as a sell-side equities analyst for seven years where he was ranked amongst the top 3 analysts in Africa (ex SA) by the Financial Mail.
